A small room needs 30 to 60 balloons for a full ribbon ceiling. Cost goes up with helium, chrome or foil, LED balloons, ribbon length, a high ceiling that needs a ladder, and paid help.
Ribbon, Safety and Clean-up
For balloon decoration ribbon, curling ribbon is cheapest and satin looks richer. Cut each ribbon long enough to end above head height. In any balloon ribbon decoration, mix two ribbon colours for depth. Switch off and tape ceiling fan switches before you start. Keep foil away from lights and wires. Never inhale helium. Burst pieces and stray ribbons are a risk for small children and pets, so pick them up quickly.
